In February we returned to Voodoo Keller Bar for our first Underground Resistors of the year and to celebrate the first anniversary of the project. And we celebrated the only way we know how, with another session of improvised electronic music featuring three artists from our collective.
Beton Brut was not for the faint hearted, as proved by Instrument Of Darkness. The raw combination of dark ambience, distorted textures and savage beats set the night on fire in uncompromising fashion, setting the tone for what was to follow.
Another night of electronic explorations in the Voodoo basement. Although the format is still the same, a collection of artists for an improvised journey, the results are wonderfully different every time.
Juanstone, DA22A and Bang Bang Beep Beep turned up with laptops, desktop synths, effects pedals and a real life guitar! Proper musicians at this one. Without discussions, it was clear to see how quickly they settled into their roles within the ensemble and just went along with whatever their collaborators were doing.
Social Conduct rattled the arches of Radio City Social at the inaugural Beton Brut event. Pulling no punches with a raw, uncompromising array of industrial electronics closing out the night in spectacular fashion
Our third live improvised session saw Qubik and Nick Smith join our residents, Brokenatoms and Kontort, in a slightly different area of the Voodoo basement.
STARK. (David Gooday & Simon Granger) and Sixth Circle (BrokenAtoms & Social Conduct) provided a masterclass in improviised electronic music performance as this video clearly shows.
We launched Underground Resistors in the intimate basement setting of Voodoo Keller Bar. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with some excellent music sound tracked by BrokenAtoms, Richard Hindle and Social Conduct.
We turned an empty shop into an indoor garden, an oasis of sound and visuals if you will, to highlighted the reunion of people and nature and brought up the discussion of how, as a society, we can bring nature back into our future cities and make it an essential part of our lives again.
Resonance turned up at Hot Box Live Events with a bunch of modular, synths, drum machines and effects pedals for fully improvised, hardware only live techno performance
