Béton Brut (French pronunciation: [betɔ̃ bʁyt]) is architectural concrete that is left unfinished after being cast, displaying the patterns and seams imprinted on it by the formwork.[1] Béton brut is not a material itself, but rather a way of using concrete. The term comes from French and means “raw concrete”.

A refusal. A rupture. A brutalist manifesto in sound. Beton Brut weaponises industrial noise and bass to obliterate the veneer of corporate control. This isn’t entertainment; it’s insurgency—an anti-spectacle where every beat is an act of defiance, every distortion a crack in the edifice.

Forget beauty. Forget comfort. This is raw power in its purest form, a call to dismantle the system from within. Electronic music at it’s most brutal

Beton Brut presents a night of electronic music, taking inspiration from techno, metal, DnB, noise, power electronics and everything that goes in between and beyond. Bass heavy pulverising rhythms, reminiscent of sound system culture and grimey underbellies of counter culture movements. All culminating into an audible onslaught that is only found in Chelmsford care of the BB crew.

Driven to despair by the absence of this sonic aesthetic within the City, the event series represents an outlet of self-expression for the creators and a chance to expose this destructive sound on the people of Chelmsford.

The evenings abrasive landscape is sculpted by live sets from special guests Weapon Eyes and Zone Cruiser, rubbing shoulders with Kontort. DJ support throughout the night is brought to you by BrokenAtoms.

Entrance is free. Performances begin at 8:30pm
